PROJECT SUMMARY
The client reached out to Five-D to design and engineer a new DN200 crossover manifold. This is intended to improve the design of the existing manifold by allowing crossover using y-laterals to connect the existing NTH FRT and new MCS lines to the two outlets. This permits both the NTH FRT and MCS line flows to supply the two outlets to the cyclone towers.
SCOPE
The Five-D scope for the project involved:
3D Modelling of the new crossover manifold
Pipe Stressing of the new crossover manifold
Piping Plan and elevation, Isometric and fabrication spool drawings
CHALLENGES'
We had extremely tight space constraints while maintaining operator access to switching valves without restricting walkway access. Large diameter piping and valves requiring a efficient piping layout.
Piping layout and fitting of the additional MCS crossover pipe to the existing manifold and pipe stressing of the carbon steel manifold connected to a plastic piping system (HDPE).
OUTCOME
The project successfully completed with deliverables issued to the client to meet the fabrication schedule.
